Dental examination & preventative care
A vibrant smile begins with a comprehensive approach to dental health. Our clinic in Buderim also serves Mooloolaba, Maroochydore and Alexandra Headland, with a full range of general dentistry designed to maintain and enhance your oral wellness. Detailed examinations assess the health of your teeth and gums and let us detect potential issues early.
Alongside examinations we emphasise prevention. Professional cleaning removes the plaque and tartar daily brushing and flossing can miss, hygiene education gives you the knowledge to sustain good oral health, and fluoride treatments help fortify teeth against decay.
We take pride in guiding patients through a preventive regimen that significantly reduces the need for more complex intervention. Contact our clinic on (07) 5356 9599 to schedule an appointment.

Gentle removal when a tooth is beyond repair, including wisdom teeth.
Oral cancer screening
Included in your check-up — a screening of the soft tissues of the mouth, cheeks, tongue and lips.
Restorative treatments & personalised care
Buderim Family Dental offers a suite of restorative treatments crafted to return both function and appearance to your smile. That includes fillings shaped and shaded to blend with your natural teeth, and — for more extensive restoration — crowns and bridges made from quality materials for durability and a close match.
When a tooth is beyond repair or threatens your dental wellbeing, our team can perform gentle extraction, including wisdom teeth, with measures in place to keep you comfortable throughout.
Root canal therapy reflects our commitment to preserving natural teeth, relieving pain and halting infection. Our periodontal services address gum health using scaling and root planing. Every treatment plan is customised to your preferences and needs.
Emergency dental care
If you are dealing with a sudden dental issue — a toothache, broken tooth or lost filling — it is important to have it looked at quickly. We offer care for a wide range of urgent concerns, supporting patients from Buderim and across the Sunshine Coast.
Whether it is unexpected pain, swelling, a damaged tooth or a dental injury, our team will assess your situation and guide you through the next steps with clarity and care. A calm setting and friendly approach help ease the stress of a dental emergency.

A comprehensive examination is a critical part of preventive care. It typically includes a review of your dental and medical history, any necessary x-rays to detect decay, bone loss or tumours, an evaluation of gum health and a screening for oral cancer.
Your dentist also assesses existing dental work such as fillings and crowns, examines your bite for alignment problems, checks each tooth surface for decay and reviews the soft tissues of the mouth including cheeks, tongue and lips.
-
Every six months is the general recommendation, though your dentist may suggest more frequent visits depending on your oral health. Regular visits keep teeth and gums healthy.
At a check-up we look for cavities, may take x-rays to detect decay between teeth, check for plaque and tartar, and thoroughly review your gums — which helps detect and prevent periodontal disease.

Professional cleaning is not only about a bright smile; it can have a significant impact on general health. Cleaning helps prevent gum disease, which can lead to early tooth loss and has been linked to heart disease and stroke.
Our hygienist uses specialised instruments to remove plaque and tartar that harden on the tooth surface and can cause inflammation, disease and decay, then polishes away surface stains. A fluoride treatment may follow to help protect teeth until your next visit.

Root canal therapy repairs and saves a tooth that is badly decayed or infected. The nerve and pulp are removed, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment the surrounding tissue can become infected and abscesses may form.
An x-ray first shows the shape of the root canals and any sign of infection in surrounding bone. Local anaesthetic is administered and a rubber dam placed to keep the tooth dry. An access hole is made and the pulp, bacteria and decayed tissue removed — cleaning may be repeated to ensure the canals are clear. The tooth is then sealed, either the same day or later to allow healing, and a crown or other restoration is placed to restore full function.
